Brown & Brown is seeking a NYSIR Auto Claims Supervisor to join our growing team in Garden City, NY!

The NYSIR Auto Claims Supervisor, supervises and supports a team of examiners to ensure timely and accurate handling of auto claims, including property damage, bodily injury, No-Fault, UM/UIM, and Med Pay. This role oversees claim investigations, reserves, subrogation, and reporting, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, brokers, attorneys, and internal teams.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Supervise, direct, assist and support a team of auto examiners

  • Assure prompt investigation, evaluation, and disposition of all first- and third-party automobile property damage claims, as well as Med Pay, New York No-Fault, UM/UIM, and automobile bodily injury claims

  • Assure the prompt reserving of all claims managed within the automobile unit

  • Create and assign incoming auto claims for the team while providing initial handling instructions

  • Manage the subrogation process

  • Assure an effective working relationship with our clients, brokers, and attorneys

  • Assure an effective working relationship with all disciplines

  • Conduct timely performance reviews and compliance audits of examiner's files

  • Assist in the selection , training, and development of all employees within the unit

  • Prepare written documents for company and carrier reporting

  • Participate in and prepare responses for Arbitration Forums

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid and Active New York General Adjuster License (Series 17-70)

  • Valid driver's license/Real ID

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least eight years of experience in handling commercial automobile claims

  • Experience with catastrophic claim handling

  • Public entity claims handling experience ( preferred )

  • Good telephone demeanor

  • Proficient use of a PC

Pay Range

$95,000 - $110,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
