This Risk Management Field Director will support Sr Living/Community Care. Job Description Summary Are you a proven leader with strategic, creative and technical commercial risk management skills? Do you have deep insights into the commercial insurance industry and competition with the ability to translate those insights into leading a field risk management team that meets the needs of the Commercial Lines, E & S, and Specialty organization and our insureds? As a Risk Management Field Director, you'll lead a team of risk management professionals who leverage their technical expertise for a wide range of large, complex commercial and specialty products while building effective relationships with agents, insureds and underwriters. We'll count on you set operational expectations, drive results, build and maintain business relationships with underwriting partners and agencies to ensure profitable growth. You'll be responsible for the overall performance of your field team and ensure guidelines and performance metrics are met for account service and risk assessments across multiple lines of business and industries. Your primary focus will be on risk management of your designated portfolio, relationship management, and account management for your team's territory. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Develop a risk management business strategy for your respective territory and industries to ensure we are influencing the right business outcomes by driving profitability, account acquisition, risk improvement, and retention through consulting services, risk assessments, and portfolio management. Translates strategic plans into organizational direction by creating goals and timelines to meet business expectations and standards. Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with key partners across the CL, E & S and Specialty organization to service book of business in an efficient and cost-effective manner through utilizing the right resources based upon the complexity of the risk. This could be through utilizing third party data, vendor assessments, virtual reviews, and in-person activities with the goal of improved capacity, productivity, and reduction in overall cycle time. Use Portfolio Management tools to monitor loss trends, portfolio performance, risk profile improvement to adjust risk assessments and continuing service activities for continuous improvement. Proactively communicate with team, leadership, and clients to enhance relationships and trust. Directs work standards and practices. Provides business recommendations to peers and leaders for broader field implementation that meets strategic objectives . Measures and monitors risk management file quality . Leads a team of field risk management professionals with specialization in the various industries. Manage and lead research to ensure high-quality preparation for site visits, meetings, risk evaluations and recommendations. Review and evaluate work to ensure exposures are addressed and standard practices are implemented. Engage in a feedback process to improve alignment with field underwriting, technical underwriting, Claims, Reserving, Pricing, Modeling, IT, and Operations. Fosters cross-functional collaboration by establishing regular feedback sessions with key partners, share insights, challenges, and opportunities while creating solutions to enhance overall performance. Determines priorities and workflow standards for field team. Implements and monitors performance measurements to ensure effectiveness of service delivery expectations. Review and consult on more complex and escalated business to make risk management decisions based on underwriting and risk management guidelines. Ensure performance and workflow standards are met by balancing service and survey workload across field organization. Determine what type of interaction is needed to meet the needs of our customers (in person, virtually, inside team) to leverage right expertise and for maximum efficiency gains. Consult with internal and external partners on policy, customer service, sales, claims, and underwriting matters. Build and strengthen internal and external relationships through proactive planning and partnership. Promote and ensure strong agency relationships in key markets within a designed geography. Provide technical advice on complex analysis and service issues to ensure compliance with state laws and company practices. Conduct risk management assessments or marketing/agency/industry presentations. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory environment and emerging safety issues. Share industry trends and best practices with the team and peers. Lead associate talent management including coaching, performance, training, development, day-to-day workflow and organization planning, salary planning, and hiring. May perform other responsibilities as assigned . Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP , 8-10 Direct Reports (E-H band level) Typical Skills and Experiences: Education : Undergraduate studies preferably in risk management or a related field, graduate studies preferred. License/Certification/Designation: CPCU, CSP, ARM or other industry designations preferred . Experience: Typically, 10+ years of commercial risk management and/or other related experience to include extensive technical knowledge of certain industry segments. Prefer 5+ years of management experience. Knowledge , Abilities and Skills : Comprehensive knowledge of risk management industry to include underwriting, operations, and finance. Strong business acumen with expertise in risk management within multiple industry segments . Demonstrated competency in strategic and organizational agility and leading teams. Has strong problem-solving skills and proven record of strong decision quality. Strong analytical skills and aptitude for evaluation of business performance . Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across the organization. Can influence how we drive results, deal with ambiguity, and communicate effectively at all levels in the organization . Strong self-starter who takes the initiative in setting goals, providing clear expectations and delivering results. Extensive risk management expertise with the ability to integrate knowledge across product lines and segments . Executing business results, them through a collaborative team in risk management in partnership with underwriting. Knowledge of commercial property & casualty; insurance operations; regulatory environment; account management; data analytics to make informed business decisions, building relationships; courage; innovation; communicating effectively, engaging and motivating people; negotiation; leading an engaged workforce; influencing others; managing and improving processes; planning and organizing work. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
