BWC's core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC's seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Under guidance of the Accounts Receivable Manager, utilizes extensive knowledge of accounting systems and procedures to supervise and manage financial staff responsible for preparing and processing financial reports and data
  • Manages multiple Oracle Receivables (Administrative costs, Fraud, Medical Provider Overpayments, Subrogation, etc.)
  • Monitors & reviews Bankrupt Self-Insured receivable
  • Monitors & reviews the Non-Compliance and Violation of Specific Safety Requirement (VSSR) billing processes (CoreSuite)
  • Manages the semi-annual Self-Insured Disabled Workers' Relief Fund (DWRF) billing process (CoreSuite)
  • Monitors & reviews ISTV billings/adjustments in the state's enterprise-wide accounting system (OAKS)
  • Monitors & reviews month end closing processes and reporting

54 mos. exp. or 54 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • Or completion of graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Senior Financial Analyst, 66563.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Knowledge of: BWC, Finance, A/R, Direct Billing unit policies & standard operating procedures ; supervisory principles & techniques; employee training & development; labor relations ; business administration &/or accounting; applicable State & Federal laws, rules, procedures & standards governing fiscal & budgetary operations; workers' compensation; BWC Insurance & Administrative Funds*; budgeting.

Skill in: personal computer; (e.g., Microsoft Office products); BWC software (e.g. Coresuite, Oracle, OAKS, Rates & Payments) *; calculator.

Ability to: deal with large number of fiscal & budgetary variables & determine specific appropriate course of action; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; handle routine & sensitive inquiries from & contacts with government officials & members of the general public; maintain friendly atmosphere as supervisor of work unit; apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems; prepare & edit technical fiscal material.
