The Role

As the EVP , Chief Legal Officer, you will be the chief legal adviser to CEO , Kate Johnson, and the Senior Leadership Team ( SLT ), and a key member of the corporate strategy team focusing on the most important legal and business strategies facing the organization. You will oversee all legal aspects of Lumens business, including corporate governance, capital markets, compliance, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory, and contractual matters. You will also lead the public policy function, representing Lumens interests with local, state, and federal authorities.

The Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

+ Developing and executing the legal and public policy strategy and agenda in alignment with Lumens vision and goals, balancing business risks appropriately against business objectives.

+ Providing sound and timely legal advice and guidance to the CEO , SLT , and other stakeholders on a variety of issues and risks.

+ Managing the delivery of legal services and resources across the organization, ensuring quality, efficiency, and value.

+ Negotiating complex and high-value agreements, dispute resolutions, board and shareholder matters, and other transactions.

+ Building and leading a high-performing team of legal and public policy professionals, fostering the Lumen 8 culture.

+ Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external parties, such as regulators, external counsel, politicians, and clients.

+ Overseeing the global, corporate compliance programs proactively anticipating and identifying potential impacts to the organization; including focus on regulatory compliance, data privacy, FCPA , antitrust and other applicable laws and regulations.

+ Lead, develop and motivate a global workforce of 250 to support an aggressive legal, compliance and regulatory agenda.

+ Ensure compliance with Lumens public reporting requirements; including financial filings.
