LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join one of our clients located in Richmond, CA. This position is 100% in-office. This role will support financial operations, including accounts payable processing, bookkeeping functions, and program-specific administrative accounting support. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage high-volume documentation, and a solid foundation in basic accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Program Support
Retrieve and manage documentation through the Salesforce portal
Organize and maintain files within internal server systems in accordance with established protocols
Prepare and process documentation related to payments
Assist with ACH and wire payment processing, including data entry and documentation support
Maintain accurate records of payment confirmations and supporting files
Scan, upload, and organize vendor invoices and payment documentation
Maintain organized digital and hardcopy files for audit and compliance purposes
Accounts Payable
Accurately enter and record vendor invoices in the accounting system
Prepare payment batches (check, ACH, wire) for approval
Ensure all required documentation is complete prior to payment submission
Maintain vendor records and assist with basic vendor inquiries
Support ongoing AP processes to ensure timely and accurate payments
General Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies
Perform reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end close activities, including schedules and supporting documentation
Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions
Adhere to internal controls, including confidentiality and segregation of duties
Qualifications
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounts payable experience preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Experience with document management systems or Salesforce is a plus
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
