Your Role at KIK
The Divisional Controller serves as a strategic business partner to the Household Leadership Team, providing financial leadership, forecasting, analysis, and insights that drive profitable growth and operational excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing all divisional financial planning and analysis activities, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and leading a high-performing finance team. The Divisional Controller partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives.
What You'll Do
Financial Leadership & Strategic Partnership
Provide strategic financial leadership, forecasting, and actionable business insights to the Household Leadership Team, including analysis of financial performance, key metrics, plant operations, international business results, productivity initiatives, and forecast accuracy.
Partner with business leaders to develop, evaluate, and execute short- and long-term strategic financial plans that support divisional and corporate objectives.
Assess the effectiveness of financial strategies and recommend adjustments to improve business performance and profitability.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze trends, and proactively identify risks and opportunities while providing guidance and recommendations to leadership.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting process, in-year forecasting cycles, and long-range strategic financial planning for the Business Unit.
Develop and manage reporting templates, financial models, dashboards, and forecast performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
Analyze and explain budget-to-actual variances, partnering with Business Unit leadership to understand drivers and assess the impact of emerging trends and business conditions.
Provide regular reporting and presentations to executive leadership, including the Household President and Vice President of Finance, highlighting financial results, operational performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
Financial Reporting & Controls
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting through effective close, reporting, and review processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and operational processes to support compliance, efficiency, and business growth.
Lead finance-related system enhancements, including the implementation of new accounting software and financial reporting tools as needed.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for members of the Household Finance team.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership within the finance organization.
Collaborate closely with Corporate Finance functions, including Corporate Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Accounts Payable, to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and financial requirements.
Partner with internal support functions including Information Technology, Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, Corporate Development, and other departments to support Household and KIK corporate initiatives.
Lead and support special projects, financial analyses, business cases, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic initiatives as requested.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.
7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles within manufacturing, consumer products, or related industries.
Experience leading financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
Proven track record of partnering with executive leadership to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
Experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
Experience working in complex, multi-site, international, or matrixed organizations preferred.
Exceptional financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior executives.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and reporting tools.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive results.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Must be able to travel 10-15%.
