Compensation:
Base Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 hourly
- Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications. Pay Range is equal to the Classified Pay Range of Grade 21.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position serves as the Accounts Payable clerk for the Kansas Veterans' Home and is responsible for managing purchase requests and invoices in accordance with State and Agency guidelines.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor all fund activity, track and verify balance, audit expenditure documents, prepare invoices
- Complete bank deposits.
- Maintain Accounts Payable Outstanding (APO) and track outstanding agency purchase orders.
- Review and check invoices, compare to purchase orders, clear discrepancies
- Maintain petty cash and imprest fund
- Complete financial transactions, monitor and maintain records
- Reconcile reports and funds
- Order office supplies and special project equipment
- Complete fiscal year closure processes, ensure sufficient funds are encumbered
- Maintain inventory files, warranties, and disposal information
- Assist residents with resident trust fund, check cashing, fees, resident shopping and barber
- Sort and meter all mail, maintain postage machine and supplies
- Incumbent may be on a rotating on-call (standby) schedule as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in accounting/auditing support work.
Must be able to obtain Notary Public for the State of Kansas and be bonded. (Post-hire)
Be free from conviction of a criminal offense that prevents employment with the Kansas Veterans Home.
Preferred Qualifications: (May be used to screen candidates)
Six (6) months of professional accounts payable experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accurate data entry
Professionalism and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with strict deadlines
Ability to multitask and handle the stress of a dynamic environment
Attend work regularly as scheduled
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
Must take and pass a drug screening within 24 hours of being offered the position.
