RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial Close & Accounting Operations
- Support the quarterly financial close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
- Assist with cash flow flux analysis to support financial reporting, management review and corporate consolidations
- Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Support income statement close activities and assist with related financial reporting deliverables
- Support the financial consolidation process, performing system reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms
Insurance Accounting & Reporting Support
- Conduct premium receivable aging analysis by business division, monitor bad debt reserves, and support CECL reserve calculations
- Prepare Excess Ceding Commission and Deferred Ceding Commission calculations in accordance with accounting policies
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial reports and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) materials
- Perform Deferred Acquisition Cost (DAC) calculations and support related reporting
- Review Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) reserves, case reserve discounting, and other activity prior to ledger integration
Data, Systems & Process Improvement
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency through process improvements, automation, and data integration, including development of Excel macros, automated reporting templates, or system-based solutions
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including implementation of new systems, tools, and reporting processes
- Maintain a strong commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and internal control compliance
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables, data modeling, and automation techniques
- Demonstrated interest in using technology and data to improve accounting and reporting processes, including the ability to cleanly, clearly, and professionally present financial data in wellstructured models, reports, and managementready outputs
- Experience with data querying tools (e.g., SQL), financial data extraction, or automation techniques to improve reporting efficiency is a plus
- Experience developing automated or dynamic financial reports
- Ability to analyze large datasets and synthesize insights into actionable financial information
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume finance environment
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools such as Workday, TM1, or OneStream is a plus; ability to quickly learn new tools
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-4 years of accounting, financial reporting, or finance experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Experience with Property & Casualty insurance accounting strongly preferred
- Experience supporting public company financial reporting or close processes is a plus
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$71,000 - $92,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
