The Financial Analyst I provides financial guidance and analytical support to assigned business functions. This role partners with leadership to develop and manage revenue, cost of sales, expense, capital, and/or headcount budgets/forecasts. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly performance reports, conducting variance analysis, supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provides business analysis with a focus on understanding the supported functions and assists business partners in managing departmental expense

  • Coordinates the development and assists in the preparation of all budgets and forecasts for revenue, expense, capital and headcount in accordance with the financial planning calendar

  • Provides monthly financial support to the business: Record month-end journal entries/accruals/account reconciliations; ensures all revenue/expenses are recorded in the proper period; analyzes variances; distributes departmental performance reports

  • Analyzes financial results, trends and key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Supports capital planning, investment analysis and ROI evaluations

  • Supports profitability and continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing cost drivers, monitoring performance, and driving process standardization through improved tools, templates and reporting to enhance efficiency and scalability

  • Assists with external audits and monitors internal controls as required, ensuring requested documentation is provided accurately and on time

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

Work Experience

  • 0-1 years of financial experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong business mathematical and analytical skills with intense attention to detail with accuracy and consistency

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with various levels of management

  • Self-motivated and a self-starter continuously looking for process improvements

  • Ability to effectively utilize basic Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI and Teams

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
