Associate Attorney - Labor & EmploymentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an Associate Attorney with a focus on Labor and Employment law to join our team. The successful candidate will represent private and public sector clients in a range of labor disputes, arbitration proceedings, and administrative hearings, including Act 111 matters. This role combines litigation, arbitration, negotiations, and client counseling to resolve workplace disputes and protect client interests.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in labor and employment matters before administrative agencies, arbitration panels, and state and federal courtsPrepare and prosecute grievances, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memorandaRepresent clients in Act 111 hearings, arbitration proceedings, and grievance arbitrationsAdvise and counsel employers and public entities on compliance, discipline, collective bargaining, and workplace policiesParticipate in labor negotiations and support collective bargaining processesConduct investigations of workplace incidents and alleged employee misconduct and prepare investigation reportsDevelop case strategy in coordination with senior attorneys and manage a docket of cases from intake through resolutionPrepare witnesses, develop exhibits, and present cases at hearings, mediations, and arbitrationsMaintain clear communication with clients, provide regular case updates, and deliver practical legal advice tailored to client needsMentor and collaborate with junior staff and paralegals to ensure quality and timely delivery of legal servicesQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar2+ years of substantive experience in labor and employment law, with demonstrated experience in labor disputes and arbitrationPractical experience or exposure to Act 111 hearings is strongly preferredExperience representing private sector and/or public sector employers is a plusProven skills in labor negotiations, grievance handling, and collective bargaining supportStrong courtroom and arbitration advocacy skills, including preparation of briefs and oral argumentExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilitiesAbility to manage multiple matters efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to counsel clients and work collaboratively within a teamWillingness to travel to hearings and client sites as required
