Role Overview *CPA REQUIRED* LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and integrate core accounting functions within a sophisticated, professional services environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence while leading and mentoring a high-performing accounting team. This leader will serve as a technical resource and people manager, supporting close processes, financial controls, and continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting organization. Key Responsibilities Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end and year-end close Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and professional services-specific requirements Support audits, financial reviews, and ad hoc reporting requests Manage the full billing and revenue cycle, including invoicing, write-offs, cancellations, and application of funds Review and approve billing adjustments in accordance with firm policies and authorization requirements Resolve complex billing, timekeeping, origination, and matter-related issues within the accounting system Partner with senior stakeholders on billing inquiries and policy compliance Oversee accounts payable operations, including vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and purchasing card activity Ensure accurate GL coding, approval controls, vendor setup, and client-related disbursements Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and AP functions Serve as a subject matter expert on professional services accounting systems (e.g., Aderant or comparable platforms) Evaluate and enhance accounting workflows, controls, reporting, and system integrations Ensure consistent accounting standards and practices across departments Lead, mentor, and develop accounting, billing, and accounts payable staff Review team output for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Support onboarding, training, and coverage planning during peak periods and staff absences Required Qualifications Education & Credentials Bachelor's degree in Accounting Active CPA license required for this role 10+ years of progressive accounting experience 7+ years of people management experience Prior experience within a law firm or professional services environment (required) Strong knowledge of professional services accounting, billing, and accounts payable Advanced experience with Aderant or comparable legal/professional services accounting systems Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations and financial analysis Ability to independently resolve complex accounting and billing matters Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year Search managed by: Andre Roesmaladi Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Massachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
