Internal Audit is an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity. It assists Edward D. Jones & Company (EDJ) and its affiliates and subsidiaries in accomplishing their objectives by applying a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and recommend improvements to the effectiveness of internal control, risk management, and governance processes. The Data Analytics Audit team plays a critical role in this mission by leveraging data to enhance audit insights, identify emerging risks, and enable more effective, data-driven decision-making across the firm. As part of this team, the Data Analytics Auditor is responsible for delivering actionable insights that support informed business decisions. This role partners closely with other analysts and stakeholders to develop and apply appropriate analytical approaches to solve complex and often ambiguous business problems. In this position, you will contribute across a variety of audit engagements at EDJ, using data, analytics, and technology to identify risks, uncover process gaps, and improve overall business effectiveness. What You'll Do Apply your understanding of business operations, key drivers, and priorities to inform analytical approaches and better address business questions. Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources, building familiarity with available datasets and ensuring accuracy and reliability of outputs. Validate data, logic, and analytical results by applying critical thinking and aligning findings with business context. Define business and data requirements for analytics work and partner with data teams to acquire and prepare necessary data. Perform analyses using techniques such as root cause, exploratory, trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to identify patterns, risks, and actionable insights. Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that directly address business questions and support decision-making. Communicate insights, methodologies, and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with audit teams and business stakeholders to understand problems, identify appropriate solutions, and support KPI or benchmark development. Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools, ensuring outputs are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with governance standards. Test, maintain, and enhance BI products while following established processes and controls. Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and analytical approaches, and contribute to ongoing operational efficiency efforts. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required (business, economics, math, engineering, analytics, or related field preferred). 1+ years of relevant experience working with data, analytics, reporting, or audit-related activities. Financial services experience is a plus. Technical Skills Experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel for data analysis. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar). Knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., descriptive statistics, trend analysis). Experience with databases and data environments preferred. Experience with Python, R, or AuditBoard is a plus. Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
