General Contractor with an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Senior Accountant in its Ramsey, NJ office. Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with the team to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements and activities associated with the month-end close inclusive of detailed general ledger account reconciliations Roll forward and assist with monthly Accounts Receivable AIA requisitioning and execution of lien waivers along with other draw package documentation Work closely with Accounts Payable Department to ensure invoices are job costed, correctly coded and processed in a timely manner Daily cash management, initiate cash transfers, record cash receipts Bank reconciliations Credit card reconciliations General ledger analysis Prepare journal entries Record weekly payroll entries Assist in preparation of Percentage of Completion Schedule Prepare pre-construction due diligence forms associated with all new construction projects, working closely with Ownership and outside lenders Assist in the preparation of project specific Cost Certification Audits Work with and assist the company's outside auditors and accountants with financial queries, reviews and audits Support the implementation and optimization of accounting and financial systems to enhance month end close and reporting processes. Assist staff in utilizing and understanding accounting software. Manage the project close out process, ensuring vendor and subcontractor commitments are appropriately paid or closed out, lien waivers are obtained, final bills are processed and required close out documentation is provided to the client. Review transactions related to multi-company and multi-entity accounting Track employment eligibility as it relates to 401(k) and health plan Input of original construction budgets and cost codes Assist in the completion of documentation required for General Liability and Worker's Compensation insurance audits Support Project Management and Contracts teams to ensure deliverables are met Other related projects, as assigned Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance CPA license a PLUS Understanding and knowledge of construction accounting preferred Knowledge of AIA Highly organized with strict attention to detail Ability to multitask efficiently Ability to prioritize effectively Computer proficiency, experience with Sage Intacct a plus Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees Ability to process requests quickly and efficiently Ability to provide excellent customer service Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-starter Deadline driven All reasonable accommodations will be considered as it relates to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
