Underwriting Operations Coordinator
*Prior MGA, wholesale brokerage, or commercial insurance experience required*
Full-Time | On Site | Oklahoma City, OK
Salary: $50-65k/yr.
Position Summary
This position is designed for someone with MGA or wholesale insurance experience who understands underwriting workflows, service expectations, carrier requirements, and agency operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, proactive, and able to recognize trends, concerns, and opportunities before they become larger issues.
Skills & Qualifications
Prior MGA, wholesale brokerage, or commercial insurance experience required
Understanding of underwriting workflows, renewals, carrier communication, and insurance operations
Ability to analyze information and recognize trends or issues requiring attention
Proficient with agency management systems, Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and workflow systems
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the Underwriting Manager with day-to-day operational oversight of the underwriting department
Monitor workloads, aging items, renewals, responsiveness, service standards, and workflow activity
Review reports and identify trends, concerns, backlogs, or accounts requiring closer attention
Research operational or underwriting issues and summarize findings for management review
Help coordinate follow-up on outstanding tasks, service issues, audits, and workflow compliance
Assist with tracking department productivity, efficiency, and operational metrics
Support communication between underwriting leadership and team members
Help ensure procedures, documentation standards, and workflow expectations are being followed
Assist with onboarding coordination, training follow-up, and process reinforcement
Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational projects
Prepare reports, summaries, meeting materials, and departmental communications
Assist with carrier requests, audits, and information gathering when needed
Serve as a backup resource for certain underwriting support functions when necessary
Help maintain organization and prioritization within the underwriting manager's daily workload
Perform additional operational and administrative duties as assigned
