Summary
Weber Blackstone's Supply Chain team is looking to hire a Global Trade Compliance Manager. This role will be the subject matter expert on trade compliance matters, including import and export for US, but also familiar with other country regulations; country of origin; USMCA; other trade agreements; and supply chain Security. The role leads a team of Trade Compliance Analysts.
This is a hybrid role in the Palatine, IL office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
Manage all aspects of company trade activities -
All import/export paperwork meets trade compliance requirements and Weber policies
Ensure assignment of proper Harmonized Tariff Schedule to finished goods and components
Comply U.S. and other country Customs local regulations and programs for expedited clearances
Point of Contact with US Customs
Advise on governmental and legal issues regarding trade compliance including, but not limited to, Section 301 of Trade Act, country of origin, substantial transformation, free trade agreements
Work with all subsidiaries and internal parties on Customs issues on a global basis with focus on plant in Poland
Certify requirements of Free Trade Agreements prior to issuance of documentation
Oversee Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program (C-TPAT)
Enhance the international trade compliance program by driving implementation of key global policies and procedures, communication strategies, and key compliance-related controls
Includes developing, periodically reviewing and updating policies for continuing relevance
Manage and develop a team of Global Compliance Analysts
Identify trade compliance enhancement opportunities and design and implement corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies
Oversee activities of Global Trade Compliance Analyst, payment of duties and fees, and customs broker performance
Conduct training on trade compliance matters and supply chain security
Active participation in trade compliance enhancement initiatives by collaborating on cross-functional teams (IT, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Legal, etc.)
Maintain awareness of US trade policy changes and communicate risks to senior leadership
Process optimization, standardization and documentation
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience in import and export, international trade or supply chain.
Specialized knowledge in import compliance, policies, audit procedures, and commodity classification experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Knowledge and understanding of Customs and Border Protection laws and regulations.
Basic knowledge of international air and ocean transportation.
Preferred:
Customs Broker License (or other international trade professional designation)
Utilization of SAP, Fiori, ACE Portal
