Commercial Lines Account Manager

Status: Full-time

Exempt Status: Non-exempt

Compensation Grade: $75K DOE Base Salary Plus Bonus Compensation $25K+

Position Description

Commercial Lines Account Manager is a sales and service-oriented position requiring advanced communication skills, strong technical insurance knowledge, and the ability to manage and retain commercial clients. This role supports the agency by servicing existing commercial accounts, marketing incoming new business, preparing renewals, and assisting clients with coverage needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Service and manage commercial insurance accounts according to established agency procedures.

Market incoming new business and renewal accounts in compliance with carrier underwriting guidelines.

Review expiration lists and determine appropriate renewal action.

Gather underwriting information needed to prepare new business and renewal submissions.

Prepare insurance summaries and assist in evaluating client insurance needs, current policies, risk management plans, property, operations, products, and other relevant records.

Prepare formal proposals of insurance, including coverages, limits, deductibles, premiums, and other pertinent information.

Issue binders, certificates of insurance, and other policy documents according to agency procedures.

Utilize agency checklists and workflows to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Establish and maintain regular communication with assigned clients for service, retention, and account development.

Maintain all client activity, documentation, suspense items, and communications in the agency management system.

Communicate with senior sales representatives or agency leadership regarding cancellations, non-renewals, remarketing concerns, or account issues.

Prioritize workload and request assistance when needed.

Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.

Assume other job responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. College-level studies and/or degree preferred.

Required Experience

At least 5 years of direct commercial lines Property & Casualty insurance experience required.

Vertafore AMS360 and AgencyZoom experience preferred.

Other Requirements

Alaska Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
