OVERVIEW Account Executive – Commercial Lines (Property & Casualty)

About the Role

The Commercial Lines Account Executive is responsible for managing a large, complex book of business (typically $1M–$1.5M in revenue), serving as the primary client advisor and leading all aspects of service delivery, renewal strategy, and account growth. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and partners with Producers as needed to support retention and new business efforts.

In addition to client leadership, this role plays a key part in mentoring team members, coordinating service activities, and driving consistency in client experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do

Client Leadership & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing strategic coverage consultation and service support
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement and proactive communication
  • Lead client meetings, including agenda development, presentation delivery, and follow-up
Renewal Strategy & Market Execution
  • Manage the full renewal lifecycle, including internal and external strategy meetings
  • Direct the marketing process, negotiate with carriers, and oversee proposal development
  • Advise clients on coverage limits, program structure, and risk management strategies
Technical Expertise & Risk Advisory
  • Analyze policies, contracts, and exposures to identify gaps and recommend solutions
  • Research complex coverage issues and negotiate with carriers to resolve client needs
  • Attend claims reviews and support resolution of claims-related issues
Business Growth & Financial Oversight
  • Identify account rounding and cross-sell opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Support new business opportunities by preparing submissions, analyzing quotes, and negotiating terms
  • Monitor receivables and financial performance to ensure accounts remain within established goals
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to account management team members
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Coordinate service timelines and ensure deliverables align with client expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Bring

Required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior commercial account management role (typically 10+ years total insurance experience)
  • Active Property & Casualty license
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lines coverages, carriers, and market dynamics
  • Experience managing large, complex accounts and renewal strategies
  • Proven ability to lead client meetings and present to senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with agency management systems
Preferred
  • Experience with AMS Sagitta or similar platforms
  • Industry designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC, CRM, or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Subject matter expertise in specific industries (e.g., construction, transportation, senior living)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Compensation: Salary range: $100,000 – $125,000 per year
