Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Associate Underwriter to join our growing team in Portland, OR!

The Associate Underwriter manages and services a designated book of business by analyzing risks, handling underwriting decisions, and ensuring policy accuracy, while maintaining compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines. Build strong relationships with clients and teammates across all levels, leveraging resources to address client needs and support ongoing business growth.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Service the designated book of business as it relates to marketing, administration, and sales.

  • Accept or decline risks based on own analysis of options.

  • Build, expand, and solidify relationships at all levels.

  • Possess the resources to address client's needs including the identification and resolution of underwriting and/or policy issues.

  • Review applications to confirm that information is appropriate to determining underwriting actions.

  • Maintain daily workflow by analyzing, handing, or forwarding to the Binding Authority Account Managers for processing.

  • Ensure Quality Control compliance.

  • Foster and seek relationships with teammates across all levels of JE Brown and Brown & Brown

  • Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures.

  • Attend training sessions, courses, etc. to maintain up to date skills.

  • Always conduct the highest level of confidentiality

  • Other duties as needed.

Skills to be Successful:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.

  • 1+ years underwriting experience, required.

  • Must be detail-oriented and possess the ability to multi-task.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
