Job Duties
Performs fiscal/accounting duties:
Approves fiscal transactions (e.g. payment requests, purchase orders, deposits, grant awards and claims);
Determines the amount for daily cash draws;
Coordinates federal drawdowns with internal/external entities;
Designs, approves and prepares financial/accounting documents;
Establishes, reconciles, and monitors fiscal activities, federal draws and cash receipts to ensure appropriate use and accounting of funds;
Assists in updating and recommends changes in fiscal policies and procedures;
Trains agency staff on fiscal policies and procedures.
Administers fiscal aspects of line-items and/or grants
Collaborates with offices and/or schools to assemble, review and analyze spending;
Assists with the administration of agency-wide fiscal lifecycle/workflows (e.g., grant lifecycle, purchase workflow, payment systems);
Prepares, updates and reviews financial/grant reports.
Independently or as a lead worker researches and analyzes complex information to resolve errors, modify data, and or determine appropriate actions:
Designs and builds custom financial reports in various systems (e.g. BI, FIN, Access, Excel, MicroStrategy);
Synthesizes data from multiple sources to create reports/presentations for internal/external customers;
Assists offices and/or schools with budget, forecasting and trend analysis;
Provides customer focused technical assistance to troubleshoot financial issues, questions and communications.
The work location of this position is 25 South Front Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. You will be required to report to this work location full-time, if selected.
If this position is filled with an internal employee who has an approved telework agreement, the employee may be required to report in-person during the initial training period.
Qualifications
42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
-Or completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
-Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Analyst, 66562.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
