Workers' Compensation Underwriter - 20067890

BWC's core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC's seven offices across the state. BWC offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Evaluates applications in the selection and pricing of Other States Coverage.
• Completes quotes, issuances, and renewals of Other States Coverage policies.
• Handles Other States Coverage policy endorsements, certificates, cancellations, loss runs and demographic updates.
• Answers routine questions from employers regarding their Other States Coverage policy.

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:

Required Experience and/or Education:

2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. as underwriter for insurance organization or for agency comparable to Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.

• Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in business, insurance & risk management, accounting, mathematical sciences or related field of study.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; read & understand technical reference manuals; write meaningful, accurate & concise reports; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; respond to sensitive inquiries from & contacts with employers & public.
