Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst to join our growing team in Kansas City, MO!

T he Senior Benefits Analyst Assists Team Lead in servicing the financial consulting needs of the employee benefit clients. Utilizes technical expertise to retain clients by providing financial expertise . Role includes evaluating financial and utilization metrics for clients including but not limited to monthly financial reports, utilization metrics and benchmarks as well as assisting with other adhoc reports and analysis.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Monitor and analyze monthly financials, including large claims, and prepare client reports and exhibits.

  • Support benefit plan efficiency by developing and improving methods, procedures, and reporting.

  • Create financial and underwriting exhibits such as projections, stop-loss analysis, and demographics.

  • Coordinate custom client reporting packages and assist with reporting requirement development.

  • Assist with RFPs, benefit renewals, and marketing processes for employee benefit coverages.

  • Draft, review, and edit benefit guides, client presentations, and employee communications.

  • Support open enrollment planning and execution, including reviewing plan documents for accuracy.

  • Provide compliance updates and respond to client questions regarding benefits regulations.

  • Manage internal audits related to client benefits and ensure process accuracy.

  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and client events as needed to support ongoing projects and education.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years' experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite , Microsoft Excel - Strong to expert level skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client financial requirements.

  • This position may require routine or periodic travel, which may require the team members to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
