Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Producer to join our growing team in San Antonio, TX!

T he Employee Benefits Producer's primary responsibilities are to generate revenue through sales to new and existing clients with emphasis on larger companies with high revenue and /or profile through various leads and marketing channels. Business is primarily conducted outside of the physical location of the office.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Responsible for the development of relationships and successful acquisition of new business revenue from new and existing clients.

  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and generate new business through sales of employee benefits insurance carrier products and services.

  • Prospect sectors or market areas identifying business needs and proposing company products and services

  • Provide service to clients according to their needs, retaining existing clients.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled Employee Benefits Sales Meetings; maintain cold calling and prospecting reports as directed by the Office Leader.

  • Must have the ability to manage schedules, set appointments, analyze exiting exposures, and present alternative solutions to fulfill the needs of the client.

  • Determine client's particular needs and risk profile by scheduling fact finding appointments; evaluate and determine extent of present coverage.

  • Develop a coordinated protection plan by calculating and quoting rates and coverages based on client's needs.

  • Call on policy holders to deliver and explain policies.

  • Research and compare insurance carrier policies.

  • Negotiate with carriers for the best results.

  • Provide service to clients according to their needs, retaining existing clients.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading industry publications; maintaining personal networks ; and participating in professional organizations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management or related field.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Policy Declaration Page, summary plan descriptions, certification of coverage, instruction manuals, workflow reports, etc.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

  • knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
