The Chief of Staff WB Operations serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Director of Operations and the broader WB Operations leadership team, driving execution, alignment, and efficiency across key operational support functions. This role plays a critical part in enabling the business to deliver on strategic goals through oversight of initiatives spanning Digital Strategy, Capital Planning (CAPEX), CRIT, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), CORE (Operational Excellence), Materials Planning , and Data Analytics & Reporting .

What You Will Do

  • Partner with WB leadership to translate strategy into actionable plans across operations
  • Lead cross-functional operational initiatives to ensure delivery of key performance targets
  • Drive alignment across business priorities and functional roadmaps

Digital & Operational Transformation

  • Oversee and drive execution of the Digital Strategy roadmap, including automation and smart factory initiatives.
  • Champion CORE (Continuous Improvement) efforts and embed operational excellence in day-to-day execution.
  • Serve as a thought leader on advanced manufacturing technologies and future-state capabilities.

CAPEX & CRIT Oversight

  • Manage capital planning process across WB Operations, ensuring alignment to strategic needs and financial guardrails.
  • Provide governance, prioritization, and performance tracking of CRIT and infrastructure projects.

Manufacturing Engineering (ME) & Materials Planning

  • Partner with ME teams to align resources and technical support to production needs.
  • Oversee materials planning effectiveness and inventory strategy to support demand and delivery performance.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

  • Lead development and oversight of performance dashboards and operational reporting.
  • Translate data into insights and drive accountability around key operational metrics.
  • Streamline reporting processes to support leadership visibility and decision-making.

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as an integrator across functions, breaking down silos and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Serve as an extension of the Executive Director of Operations to manage priorities, support communication, and enable focus on highest-impact work.
  • Drive cadence and structure of leadership operating mechanisms (E.G., ops reviews, metric deep dives, strategy sessions)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management, operations, or related fields in manufacturing.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading large-scale transformation or cost reduction initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in a strategic advisory role to senior leadership
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to develop and analyze business cases.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP Certification)
  • Proficiency with project management tools and enterprise systems.
  • Data analysis and visualization capabilities
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, CORE, etc)
  • Exceptional communication skills, with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive consensus in complex organizational environments.
  • Change management expertise with proven ability to drive organizational adoption.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
