BWC's core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC's seven offices across the state. BWC offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Candidate will be assigned a set group of self-insured employers and ensure compliance with self-insured rules and procedures.
- Candidate will oversee the policy renewal process for all self-insured employers assigned to the underwriter which includes:
- Verify that all policy information is current,
- Ensure the employer has no outstanding balances,
- Add/delete subsidiary employers covered under the policy as needed.
- Candidate will review requests for policy updates made throughout the year and make changes to policy as needed.
- Candidate will research merger/acquisitions made by self-insured employers, process the combine of policies if applicable, and update policy information in CoreSuite as needed.
- Candidate will respond to email and phone call inquiries regarding assessment invoices and other related issues.
To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:
Required Experience and/or Education:
2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. as underwriter for insurance organization or for agency comparable to Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
- Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in business, insurance & risk management, accounting, mathematical sciences or related field of study.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
