Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Underwriter to join our growing team in White Plains, NY!
Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, the Senior Employee Benefits Underwriter will utilize technical expertise to retain clients by providing financial and utilization data analysis to identify , plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs
How You Will Contribute:
Evaluate group employee benefits cases, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans
Analyze demographic data, claims experience, and industry trends to assess risk, identify hot spots and project future expenses
Understand, interpret and re-create released carrier underwriting formulas to assist in anticipating renewal actions
Collaborate account management team to ensure alignment on client strategies and deliverables
Assist Account Managers with renewal processes, ensuring timely and accurate marketing and delivery of quote summaries
Learn and adapt to new carrier reporting systems or variances in monthly reporting, including working with the AE and carrier to ensure required data to complete Brown & Brown reports is provided
Contribute to process improvements, including maintenance and initial creation of Excel models for use by Account Executives (Marketing Spreadsheets, Contributions, PCORI, etc.)
Attend client meetings as requested to present and review data and projections in support of Account Executives
Meet Requirements for licensing as directed by Brown & Brown
Perform other duties as assigned, including training of other staff as necessary
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree in Math, Business, Finance, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in employee benefits underwriting and/or data analysis (carrier or TPA experience preferred)
Experience with self-funded plans and stop loss insurance
Strong knowledge of group health, dental, and ancillary products
High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc.)

Pay Range
$115,000 - $125,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
