About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for Dublin, Ohio, to provide finance and accounting support to the Trading, Supply & Logistics & Marketing business unit focused on US Refined Products. This role involves preparing and communicating financial stewardship and performance management reporting for internal and external purposes, linking results to the economic P&L and financial documents. The position will work closely with the front office and manage all finance and accounting aspects of the US Refined Products business, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, reconciliations, invoicing, accruals, and journal entries. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to lead and communicate effectively across business functions and with upper management.
What you'll do:
Role: end-to-end book level accounting and reporting for TSL/Marketing back office trade books
* Prepare and post all accounting entries related to the financials and commodity trade book(s)
* Prepare financial and performance management reports for various partners
* Support the Trading/Marketing, Supply & Logistics front office by bridging the economic P&L to financial results providing insight to variances and areas of interest
* Provide insight on transportation and storage expense incurred and revenues realized
* Contribute to long-range planning, budgeting and forecast efforts for the trade book(s)
* Monthly transportation and inventory balancing, netback calculations, journal entries and accruals, including Intra/Intercompany
* Monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
* Monthly government and customs reporting
* Provide financial information supporting business unit KPIs and industry benchmarking efforts
Who you are:
* Legally authorized to work in the US
* CPA/MBA Designation
* 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, business / financial analysis
Preferred:
* Sophisticated Excel & SAP skills
* Experience in oil and gas marketing/trading
