Hull & Company is seeking a Renewal Underwriter to join our growing team in St . Petersburg, FL!

The Renewal Underwriter evaluates and processes insurance renewal applications by assessing risk, determining appropriate underwriting actions, ensuring compliance with quality standards, collaborating with brokers, and continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and market optimization.

How You Will Contribute

• Reviews insurance renewal applications to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance and accepts or rejects applications by performing the following duties.

• Review renewal applications to confirm that information is appropriate to determine underwriting actions.

• Determine renewal underwriting actions.

• Accept or decline risks based on own analysis of options.

• Review all risks for new and renewal business for any securities law practice exposure.

• Implement methods for promoting policies or improvements to processes.

• May train or supervise junior level assistants.

• Verify complete and proper coding.

• Compliance with Quality Control guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Collaborates with Broker with regard to unusual coverages.

• Maintains knowledge of all markets available to maximize opportunities to negotiate placements

Licenses and Certifications:

• 220 License (preferred)

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

• Exceptional telephone demeanor

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

• 3 - 5 years industry experience

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university (preferred)

• Experience with excess and surplus lines underwriting agency or company as a plus. (preferred)
