Brown & Brown is seeking an Associate Account Manager to join our growing team in Honolulu, HI .

The Associate Account Manager will provide direct support and assistance , working in conjunction with the Account Managers and Consultants to provide Brown & Brown's promised service commitment to clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Establish, develop, and sustain professional relations with internal staff, carriers, and clients. Create an environment where teammates feel connected and energized.

  • Work in close collaboration with the Account Managers and Consultants to respond to client needs and inquiries; support and assist with workflows to promote overall team efficiency; assist with and become proficient in managing the small business segment (smaller clients with less than 50 employees)

  • Provide administrative support with presentation materials, such as: renewal binders, sales and marketing materials, and RFPs; populate templated spreadsheets; review policy documents

  • Assist with requesting renewals and Schedule A/Form 5500 from carriers, timely follow-up of outstanding client and carrier issues, and generating renewal confirmation letters

  • Perform peer review of others' work as well as ensure own work is peer reviewed before release to clients

  • Track, document, and archive all pertinent client and carrier issues, correspondence, and data in agency database

  • Be proficient with Zywave/BenefitPoint as an agency management tool and as a resource

  • Assist Account Managers with special projects, such as: Zywave/BenefitPoint input/review, client gifts, and other tasks as assigned

  • Take charge of practice-based duties, such as: ordering supplies, submitting check requests, organizing and coordinating vendor meetings

  • Expand knowledge of group insurance and legislative issues affecting employee benefits; attend education seminars/webinars related to employee benefits, read publications, utilize Brown & Brown University online learning management system

  • Exhibit strong work ethics; be willing to offer help and assistance as well as accept help when needed

  • Can be counted on to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances

  • Work on teams and special projects as needed and assigned

  • Problem solving - Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information skillfully, using appropriate resources. Present thoughtful suggestions/solutions and be respectful of other's as well.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Willing to obtain Hawaii Insurance Producer Life & Health License within 6 months of hire

  • Valid Hawaii Insurance Producer License - Life & Health (Preferred)

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Positive attitude, dependability, strong work ethic, and maintain a positive culture in the workplace

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Exceptional communication/demeanor (written & verbal) with internal and external individuals

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical conduct

  • Professional office experience, etiquette and appearance

  • 4-year College degree (Preferred)

  • Work experience in employee benefits administration or group insurance (Preferred)

  • Basic understanding of employee benefits terminology and insurance (Preferred)

Pay Range

$45000 - 55000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
