Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a n Assistant Broker to join our growing team in Tacoma, WA!

The Assistant Broker a ssists the Brokers by reviewing insurance applications, inspections, and other pertinent information to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Examine documents such as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to assess risk factors like financial standing, age, occupation, accident experience, and property condition. Use this information to determine the level of risk associated with the applicant.

  • Work with Brokers to ensure all required information is gathered, applications are completed properly, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly, and state filings and taxes are compliant with state laws.

  • Prepare quotes, binders, and SLA filings as directed by the Broker, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate .

  • Provide full assistance and support for the sales and production process within the department. Help facilitate the workflow and ensure a smooth process from start to finish.

  • Collaborate with Brokers in reviewing risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, and issue written binders to ensure all details are handled accurately.

  • Assist Brokers in developing and nurturing carrier and brokerage relationships to place specific risks and expand the book of business, focusing on long-term partnerships.

  • Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions, and policies for completeness and accuracy. Ensure that all documents meet the required standards and reflect the correct details.

  • Understand and utilize Company facilities, brokering risks when needed to negotiate successful placements. Help improve quote-to-bind activity and production results by streamlining processes.

  • Become familiar with the agency management software systems and suggest labor-saving methods to the Department Leader. Aim to improve efficiency within the team.

  • Issue or re-issue Certificates of Insurance and ensure that the terms, conditions, and forms on policies align with the quotes and binders previously confirmed by Brokers. Provide telephone support for basic Producer questions, referring complex issues to the Broker for further assistance .

Licenses and Certifications:

  • P&C licensed (Preferred)

  • Pursuing a CIC or CPCU designation, or similar insurance coursework (Preferred)

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Minimum Education required ; HS diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a business or financial related discipline. (Preferred)

  • Proficient with MS Office

  • Exceptional telephone demeanor

  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar insurance support position

Pay Range

$20.00 - $27.00 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
