Brown & Brown is seeking a Producer to join our growing team in Brentwood, TN!
The Producer is r esponsible for locating prospective clients and obtaining all information necessary to quote their account. Works with Marketing and Service department teammates to provide continued excellent service to clients. This position will be responsible for their book of business handling the renewal process while continuing to write more new business.
How You Will Contribute
Maintain a pipeline of prospective accounts
Actively generates new leads through community activities, attending association meetings, and cold calling to obtain expiration dates and other information to turn leads into prospects and clients
Work within the procedures and goals of the agency to meet sales objectives
Submit data on potential accounts and renewals to support teammates for processing
Assists in the marketing of accounts, presents proposals to prospects and clients
Continually strives to provide value added customer service to existing clients
Handles complex processing and claim situations with client and/or Profit Center teammates
Develop new business accounts and retain existing accounts in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Profit Center Leader
Responsible for collection of all premiums, including audits made subsequent to policy issuance, on all new accounts produced
Maintains production reports and attends sales meetings as required
Promotes the agency and the insurance industry in the community
Participates in company and agency sales contests
Keeps informed of industry developments through a review of the trade press and by attending company training meetings on new or revised products
Pursues a program of personal and professional development
Licenses and Certifications:
Property and Casualty License or ability to obtain within 6 months
Insurance designations ( ie RHU, REBC, CPCU, CIC, CISR, ARM) (preferred)
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
High School diploma or GED
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Associate or bachelor's degree in business or financial related discipline (preferred)
5 or more years in a similar position (preferred)
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Willing and able to travel extensively and to attend agents' conventions and other industry meetings
Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter
Maintains minimum acceptable insurance coverage as outlined by the Driving for Business policy.
