Brown & Brown is seeking a Marine Specialty Producer to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, VA !
The Marine Specialty Producer is responsible for identifying and engaging prospective clients within the marine industry. This role requires close collaboration with the Marketing and Service departments to ensure clients receive exceptional service and support. In addition to managing a personal book of business, strong knowledge of marine risks, including hull, cargo, and liability coverage, is essential to providing tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of maritime clients.
How You Will Contribute:
Actively generates new leads through community activities, attending association meetings, and cold calling to obtain expiration dates and other information to turn leads into prospects and clients
Work within the procedures and goals of the agency to meet sales objectives
Submit data on potential accounts and renewals to support team m ember for processing
Assists in the marketing of accounts, presents proposals to prospects and clients
Continually strives to provide value added customer service to existing clients
Handles complex processing and claim situations with client and/or team members
Develop new business accounts and retain existing accounts in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the office leader
Responsible for collection of all premiums, including audits made after policy issuance, on all new accounts produced
Maintains production reports and attends sales meetings as required
Promotes the agency and the insurance industry in the community
Participates in company and agency sales contests
Keeps informed of industry developments through a review of the trade press and by attending company training meetings on new or revised products
Pursues a program of personal and professional development
Licenses and Certifications:
Insurance designations ( i.e. RHU, REBC, CPCU, CIC, CISR, ARM) (preferred)
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Associate or bachelor's degree in maritime, business or financial related discipline (preferred)
3 or more years in a marine-focused position (preferred)
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Property and Casualty License or ability to obtain within 6 months
Willing and able to travel extensively and to attend agents' conventions and other industry meetings
Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter
Maintains minimum acceptable insurance coverage as outlined by the Driving for Business policy .
