Statutory Staff Accountant (Hybrid)

+ About the job:

This role supports monthly close and financial reporting activities for insurance entities, with a focus on Statutory accounting. It’s ideal for someone looking to grow within the finance function while contributing to quarterly and annual NAIC filings.

+ We’re looking for someone who:

• Has 2–4 years of experience in P&C Statutory Insurance Accounting

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Business field

• Has 1–3 years of direct insurance accounting experience (CPA preferred)

• Understands Property & Casualty insurance accounting principles and terminology

• Is highly proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Manages tasks independently while adapting to shifting priorities

• Has strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail

• Communicates clearly and works well with both internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic

+ What you’ll do:

• Record and reconcile journal entries for revenue, investments, losses, and expenses

• Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts

• Prepare and file quarterly/annual statements for assigned insurance entities

• Submit various regulatory filings

• Support internal and external audit processes and documentation

• Ensure internal controls are operating effectively

• Conduct ad hoc analysis of key expense categories to support monthly close

• Provide financial reporting support and assist with fluctuation analysis
