Job Title: Sr. Loss Control Consultant Company: Employers Insurance Group Location: Glendale, CA Description: A Senior Loss Control Consultant’s primary responsibility is to work with underwriting and become an integral part of the underwriting process of risk selection, pricing, and retention of profitable business. A Senior Loss Control Consultants secondary responsibility is to work with policyholders to identify and evaluate risk factors and to develop recommendations to effectively control them.1. Conducts on-site comprehensive risk evaluations of large or complex policyholder’s operations.2. Analyze loss data and assist the policyholder in identifying the root cause of employee injuries, including the development of effective plan of action to address the loss causes. 3. Operates with little or no supervision or direction from management and handles complex or unique loss control situations.4. Prepares reports for underwriting purposes containing a thorough and accurate description of operations, evaluation of exposures and controls, analysis of loss data, and an evaluation of the effectiveness of policyholder safety and training programs. 5. Effectively manages and monitors an assigned book of business, directing loss control services at injury prevention and overall risk improvement.6. Develops meaningful recommendations to address loss producing factors or physical conditions and follows up when appropriate.7. Investigates individual large losses and conducts adverse claim trend analysis to determine if loss control intervention is needed.8. Develops loss control strategies/plan of action for controlling losses.9. Degree in a safety and health related field or recognized professional designation, including ASP, CSP, or OSHT is preferred. • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and application of federal, state and local occupational safety and health laws and regulations. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of workers’ compensation insurance. • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.• Demonstrates analytical problem solving skills, such as the ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems by identifying the problem, developing a course of action, implementing action to affect a solution, and measuring the effectiveness of the action taken. • Demonstrates advanced presentation skills, including the ability to prepare, organize, develop and present completed materials to an audience.• Excellent knowledge of required computer programs/systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database and presentation software programs.
