Job Title: Resident Automobile Damage Appraiser Trainee

This is a trainee position. Responsibilities include appraising automobile or other vehicle damage to determine cost of repair for insurance claim settlement. The training period is six months. After six months, the trainee will be evaluated by Material Damage Management and a decision will be made as to whether to place the trainee into the field based on completion of the training and passing all required testing. The location of the placement will be determined once the training period is completed and the employee has received a successful evaluation. Training: Training will consist of two weeks orientation and the SafeAuto claims process including shadowing a claim representative. Two weeks at Vale Tech for physical damage estimating. Audatex/Autosource training including online training courses. Two to four weeks of time study/estimator shadowing at a selected body shop. Two to four weeks shadowing a staff appraiser. Two to four weeks in the field with supervisor observation. After one year of field experience, trainee will be required to complete one week of advanced technical training at Vale Tech.
