This individual will be directly responsible for the Tampa office. The manager will play a critical leadership role in effectively executing ESIS business strategies and plans in these jurisdictions. They will also be responsible for successful development and implementation of local business plans focusing on claims quality, customer service, staff development and expense management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities *Manages the activities of Claims Supervisors within assigned lines of business to assure swift and efficient claims services to ACE/ESIS customers.*Determines and delegates claims settlement authority to Claims Supervisors, in conjunction with Claim Vice President. Retains higher settlement authority for cases beyond the scope of subordinates and may personally settle such cases. Coordinates and handles structured settlements.*Develops and implements local operating processes and sound claims handling procedures to assure that quality claims service is rendered to all accounts. Effectively manages operations against established standards and recommends modifications or improvements to increase productivity.*Effectively manages all Florida EDI requirements within the Tampa office. Ensure compliance with jurisdictional mandates and responds effectively to jurisdictional inquiries and audits. *Maintains positive relationships with customers and producers serviced. Ensures quality and timeliness of service provided and designs and implements action plans to correct deficiencies as appropriate.*Establishes loss reserves to reflect probable financial obligations both personally and through subordinate supervisors. Reviews and modifies reserves as necessary.*Develops, manages and monitors departmental operating budget. Manages and controls expenses by ensuring adequate departmental controls and prudent protection/application of company assets.*Manages department human resources by ensuring that organization design, staff selection, performance management, reward programs and related actions are consistent with company policies, procedures and good business judgment. Interfaces with assigned Human Resources representatives to obtain required services and advice.Desired QualificationsAbility to establish and implement general business, legal, and ACE/ESIS procedures and practices, as evidenced by completion of Management and Technical Training programs and courses, completion of a business or legal related college level curriculum, or other relevant practical work experience.*Minimum of 5 to 7 years Workers Compensation claims handling experience to include multi-jurisdictional litigation experience. Strong knowledge of Florida jurisdictional requirements is preferred.*Management and planning expertise as evidenced by 2 or more years of management experience in a medium or large ACE/ESIS Claims office, or a similar organization.
