The OpportunitySenior Operational AuditorConducts complex operational audit projects, working independently under the general direction of audit management; works with designated staff in all aspects of the audit process; reviews work generated by designated staff to ensure compliance with audit standards and prepares written evaluation of staff performance to management. •Plans assigned projects; determines the scope of the audit work to be performed and develops and writes the audit work program; interviews employees and performs the audit work as developed in the audit program, using automated facilities wherever feasible •Analyzes the audit results to objectively determine the effectiveness of internal controls, efficiency of operations, and protection of company assets; performs thorough reviews of assigned areas, including transactions, documents, records, physical assets, and automated functions, reviewing for accuracy, adequate controls, and operational efficiency •Advises Internal Audit management of any events or occurrences that could be construed as fraud or in violation of established laws or statutes; documents audit findings that will be the basis for the final report •Prepares for management review a draft report of the audit that includes a description of the audit findings and recommendations; participates in a closing conference with management in which audit results are discussed; prepares PowerPoint presentations, visuals, graphs, and other materials as requested. Evaluates the responses to audit reports to verify that all issues have satisfactory responses. •Participates in annual SOX Quality Assurance Process •Participates in system development project teams as an internal controls consultant •Performs special projects for the Internal Audit management staff •Participates in educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of internal audit, life insurance, accounting, and business administration •Performs other related duties as requiredThe RequirementsEducation/Experience:•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field and four to six years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience •Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation (required)Core CompetenciesAction Oriented, Adaptability, Customer Service, Ethics and Values, Integrity and Trust, ListeningThe BenefitsAflac is known for treating our employees exceptionally well.
