KEY OBJECTIVE:Support completion of Brandywine actuarial goals and objectives including annual reserve reviews with particular focus on AFIA Re and other assumed reinsurance businesses.C. ACE has developed a modeling framework over the past few years to meet these demands, but there is an ongoing effort to advance the program further to keep pace with expanding requirements. These developments have substantial implications for ACE’s group-wide planning process, both in terms of the way in which it is conducted as well as how the results are used. The individual in this role will lead efforts to enhance ACE’s planning process and produce periodic analyses (risk-based and otherwise) for unit and senior management based on planning assumptions and outputs.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Direct the Group-level actuarial analysis of ACE’s business plan, including the generation of risk-adjusted performance metrics, product line profitability targets, trend benchmarking, etc.* Lead efforts to improve ACE’s planning process, including working toward consistency of methods / assumptions and providing required inputs for ACE’s economic capital model(s).* Help to develop appropriate uses for the capital model, including applications to assist with planning.* Help develop risk parameters for the capital model based in part on planning variables and assumptions* Satisfy ad hoc requests regarding loss trends, pricing environment, etc.SCOPEThe position will be based in Philadelphia and report to a VP / Actuary.
