Direct the actuarial and financial reinsurance aspects of the captive strategy and related financing transactions for capital and redundant reserve relief. As a member of the deal team, support the negotiation and implementation of new reinsurance and financing solutions by gathering and developing relevant information for actuarial consultants, investment bankers and reinsurers, reviewing treaties and other key legal documents and developing and peer reviewing captive deal models and pro forma financial statements. Comply with all regulatory and transaction requirements, with primary responsibility for the independent actuarial opinions and sending notifications of assumption changes and their impact on reserves to the banks. Work closely with modeling and valuation to develop the deal models and reserve projections needed to manage and support XXX and AXXX collateral needs. Monitor ongoing performance of the captives including A/E experience of the captive versus the deal model. Work with finance to implement and review quarterly financial reinsurance settlements. Other activities may include creating new management information reports, validating rates or actuarial calculations, researching the impact of new reinsurance regulations, and gathering market intelligence about competitor's reinsurance and financing solutions.Who is our ideal candidate? We're looking for a highly analytical and technically strong actuary (FSA) with at least 10-12 years of actuarial experience in product development, modeling, valuation of individual life products and/or US statutory and IFRS financial projections. Reinsurance experience is optimal. The candidate shall be a self starter, with ability to problem solve, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, develop new analytical tools and do research to support new and ongoing projects. An expert in building spreadsheets is essential, as are strong oral and written communication skills. Exposure to capital market solutions is helpful, but not necessary.What else can we tell you?
