Dir & Associate Actuary GBD Pricing and Product Development DescriptionAssistant Actuary, GBD Product Development and Pricing Harford Life OPPORTUNITY: Lead teams of colleagues within a dynamic product development and profitability management environment covering Direct Response and Group Employer Life, Disability, AD&D, Supplemental Health Own pricing, risk mitigation, rate compliance, and valuation intricacies for the Life, Disability Income, AD&D and other products Lead product development and product pricing activities RESPONSIBILITIES: Management and Leadership · Lead and develop staff · Manage projects · Own prioritization and execution of initiates in alignment with business plans Risk Management/Block Profitability · Own rate development methodologies and protocols · Ensure overall profitability of the Association Block · Identify, mitigate, and/or reverse evolving risk trends · Recommend pricing strategies and continuously evaluate them, including review of rate manuals · Influence the outcome of the risk benchmark setting process through the Capital Attribution exercise New Product Development · Provide risk assessment expertise by participating in all new GBD product development and product distribution initiatives · Partner with the Product Development Team for idea generation, vetting, pricing support and execution · Develop unique pricing methodologies for new innovative products for all of GBDQualificationsCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: A self-starter with demonstrated ability to bring projects to completion within stated deadlines. Ability to see through the project complexity and identify, pursue and execute critical path initiatives is necessary. Independent thinking, proven track-record of influencing outcomes, clear and effective communication skills, initiative and strong sense of ownership are required.
