Description: Risk Management, Credit, Sales Support
This position is responsible for managing company risk associated with extending credit lines to customers, inventory management and insurance. The individual will support business activity of the company’s sales divisions with the objective to minimize risk and maximize profitability. A proven record in risk management is essential. POSITION OVERVIEW:
(E ) Credit Management Manage the activity of credit approval for new customers and credit renewal for existing customers. Provide interpretation of customer’s financial status for proper evaluation of risk and establishment of credit limit. Manage special credit arrangements, secure credit insurance, letters of credit, and / or UCC filings as necessary. Oversees analysis of accounts receivable, aging of accounts, calculation of allowance for doubtful accounts, and collection procedures. Interface with all levels of management and sales personnel to discuss long outstanding account balances and necessary action to be taken in order to minimize risk. Oversee the monitoring of credit limits and communicate credit concerns timely to executives. Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and policies across sales divisions and organization as well as ensuring an efficient operation of credit function.
(E) Inventory Management Manage the activity of establishing inventory limits and monitoring such limits. Interface with all levels of management and sales personnel to discuss long outstanding inventory balances and take necessary action to minimize risk. Provide support and advice to sales divisions regarding warehousing activity and necessary legal agreements. Develop, implement, and maintain systems procedures and policies regarding inventory control, inventory reservation policy, physical count activity, confirmation activity, etc. Participate in special projects relating to business processes, systems or risk management.
(E) Credit and Cargo Insurance Management Negotiate the renewal of credit and cargo insurance policies with carriers. Monitor insurance policies and manage coverage within the allowable limits. Supervise activity of claims processing. Analyze loss ratios and recommend proper plan of action to executives.
(E) Sales Division Support Provide support to sales divisions in structuring new business (i.e. sales orders / purchase order flow, transaction terms, insurance coverage, UCC filings, agreements, etc.) Provide support to sales divisions for ongoing operations by monitoring risk factors, providing flash reports, arranging necessary action plans, and minimizing overall risk. Provide support to annual audit activity, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and other regulatory requirements. Manage compliance of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, ie. Environmental Purchasing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Certifications in Risk Management (Preferred)
Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in credit, inventory, and / or risk management
Minimum 3 - 5 years managing subordinates, this position will have up to two direct reports
Ability to understand business processes and collaborate well with business partners
Proven ability to manae effectively and be a team player
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
Advanced systems knowledge of key tools used (MS Office / Outlook, Access, Sharepoint, etc.)
Strong computer skills required (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint etc.)
